The Picadilly Daisy

Did you ever have a few lines of poetry running through your head, but had completely forgotten where they came from?

This morning I woke up with these opening lines stuck in my head:

The night was thick and hazy
When the ‘Piccadilly Daisy’
Carried down the crew and captain in the sea;
And I think the water drowned ’em;
For they never, never found ’em,
And I know they didn’t come ashore with me.

The poem is ‘Robinson Crusoe’s Story’ by Charles Edward Carryl. The full poem can be found at PoemHynter.com
