Since my retirement my wife and I have taken planes, trains, and cruise ships to explore many cities around the world. In most we only got a small taste of the city, staying less than a day. In others, we have had longer stays.

Cities We Visited

Barcelona [2016]
Barcelona was our cruise's departure port. And, even though the ship overnights in there - we really didn't have time to explore the city. Barcelona is near the top of my 'Must Visit Again' list

Corfu [2016]
Since we were travelling during the off season, we hadn't prepared for such beautiful weather. Some of the tourist vendors had closed for the season, still there were many places to shop.

Kotor [2016]

Malaga [2019]
Flying over central Spain it was easy to imagine Don Quixote and Sancho riding across the sun baked land below. I wondered what he would have made of these modern ‘giants’ (wind mills) lining the ridge tops. The day started like one of Don Quixote’s adventures - things weren’t what they seemed.

Bournemouth
Bournemouth wouldn't be everyone's first choice as the starting point for a seven city tour of the UK. Hardly an internationally famous tourist spot, I was there to see my cousin whom I hadn't seen in over 60 years. I didn't expect to find a world class tourist attraction - I was wrong.
